GENEGLACE FLAKE ICE AT SEA TO IMPROVE THE FISH QUALITY

"These machines are the best in flake ice technology"
- Johnny Orpen, MFV Ardent

"The owners of trawlers are full of praise for their Geneglace seawater on-board machines. By producing ice on-board they make considerable cost and time savings. They all agree to day that the quality of their fish has improved greatly and that they are getting better prices. This is due to improvement on presentation fo their catches.
Careful handling is as important as ever, but the Geneglace flake-ice machiens make a significant difference. With a static drum and few moving parts, the Geneglace concept is less liable to undue stress and wear. From Northern Europe to Southern Africa, a lot of shipyards made the choice of Geneglace ice machines to install on the new fishing vessels. This is the case for the Danish shipyard VEST VAERFTET ApS. During the last 12 months, they delivered the MFV Stella Nova and MFV Patrick C built for Clogherhead's Seamus Connolly of Supreme Fishing Co and now for new arrivals MFV Dillon Owen for Paddy O'Sullivan and the MFV Ardent for Johnny Orpen of Castletownbere.
Commenting on their decision to install Geneglace ice machines model F100SW - Production 3300 kg/24 hours on their new vessels, Johnny Orpen said that Geneglace offered the best technology available. "Having discussed the matter with our local ice and refrigeration expert, Ailbhe Allen, serval options were considered. However the Geneglace systems are easily the Rolls Royce of the ice machine market and with vessels of this high standard, we wanted the best," he said.
