Ice is the oldest means of refrigeration. It is universal and so traditional that it seems familiar and simple to us - almost a commodity.

Yet ...
- Despite rapid progress of the science of refrigeration, the most advanced industries use more and more ice.
- This unstable material is not so easy to handle. It melts quickly, sticks together, hardens and may break the most robust mechanisms.

The 2008 Geneglace catalogue includes new ice systems to store, handle and quantify ice automatically. Safe and hygenic solutions !
For more than 50 years, Geneglace has cultivated a genuine "intelligence for ice". All equipment presented in our new catalogue benefit from this unique know-how.

The Ice-systems, comprehensive and well though-out solutions !
While it is essential to produce quality ice, it is equally important to maintain consistent quality during its storage, transport and delivery. Ice mustn't melt, stick together and harden, nor get contaminated.
In 2008 discover new combis and containerized ice plants. Effective storages with easy access to ice, these are economical and rational solutions to deliver up to 40 tonnes per day of immaculated, free-flowing ice.
Ice dispenser delivery the ice automatically on request, Push a buttom and get sanitary flake, granual or liquid ice 'from tap' !

Jumbo GENEGLACE ice maker in Canada
Fishing always played a dominant role in the economy of Newfoundland. In the XIXth  century, cod was smoked and dried with solar heat. With the progresses in the science of refrigeration, ice makers came, which enabled to better maintain the freshness of the catch without dehydration. Nowadays, fishing remains a vital activity in the region. The scarcer resource calls for even larger quantities of ice to avoid spoilage and make the most of the catch.

GENEGLACE ICE GENERATOR AT THE
PORT OF LA SCIE (NEWFOUNDLAND)
OCEANVIEW INDUSTRIES opted for a F2000  ice generator at their factory in La Scie (955 inhabitants – about 150 fishermen).
The ice plant is in the heart of the small fishing port that counts 955 inhabitants – about 150 fishermen –. on the Atlantic ocean, less than 800 miles away from
Greenland.
The plant operates from April to October for the shrimp and crab fishing season. Larry Butt , the owner   is full of praise for the
GENEGLACE  machine and the quality of its ice. Flake ice is easy-to-pack and handle. It doesn’t stick together – a huge advantage in view of the many cubic meters handled. The flakes cushion the seafood and keep it fresh for a long time.

JUMBO REFRIGERATION PACKAGE ‘MADE-IN-CANADA’
The GENEGLACE F2000 ice generator was assembled by the Canadian company CIMCO REFRIGERATION with a dedicated ammonia refrigerating plant in a self-contained unit. The refrigeration package is huge and impressive in size and by the quality of its finishing. The unit runs on NH3  with a FRICK screw compressor and produces 55 tons-a-day (24 h).
Geneglace greets CIMCO’s technical performance.

GT Refrigeration distributors for GENEGLACE in the UK
The Reading-based company is appointed as master distributor for commercial Geneglace ice makers in the UK.
GENEGLACE ice machines are widely used throughout the British fish industry, from boats to fish mongers. Over the years they have acquired a strong reputation for performance and dependability under the most demanding weather conditions. The new distribution appointment reflects the manufacturer's will to more accurately segment their markets and to better serve growing applications in the food industry.
“Our industrial machines that produce 20 tonnes of ice per day or more are already solely distributed by Grasso Products limited, our sister company, who has done an excellent job so far of supplying larger machines  to UK ports and food factories” GENEGLACE says. “
"GT will have the responsibility to develop our markets for smaller units form 250 kg to 20 tonnes, with a special focus on growing food applications such as bakeries, meat manufacturing and produce".
With thirty years of GENEGLACE experience, Gerald Bishop GT's manager, knows these markets and our commercial ice makers better than anyone else" they add. "We trust in his ability to provide technical support to our distribution network. Such dedicated service is paramount to penetrate the meat processing markets which are typically servy by companies with strong mechanical expertise rather than refrigeration
".

GENEGLACE opens new office in Asia
The refrigeration industry gathered to the opening days of the GENEGLACE ASIA-PACIFIC held in   Bangkok early this month.
The venue which started with a one-day working seminar for Geneglace Asian distributors, continued with the official ceremony and open house cocktail party held for the trade on Friday February 1st .

The event was an occasion for Mr Alain Blanquart, GENEGLACE in Asia new manager   for to present his team and to unveil  Geneglace development plans for the region.
“The outstanding growth of Asian markets brings genuine market opportunities in the field of industrial refrigeration”, said Alain Blanquart. “Ice is widely used in food processing to refrigerate perishables and enhance hygiene of food products. As a consequence of the fast growth of Asian populations, GENEGLACE, expects increased demand for its ice makers in Asia”.
The Opening of the GENEGLACE Asia-Pacific representative office testifies of the company’s intention to cope with a fast changing - yet attractive - environment, to monitor Asian markets and support their customers with proximity service.
Then  Alain Blanquart unveiled the new Geneglace 2008 catalogue and prices which includes 10 new models of  ice makers and automatic ice dispensers to deliver flake ice chip ice or liquid ice on demand.
The leading European manufacturer of flake ice machines, is now broadening its scope to encompass other kinds of  ice for industrial applications. A wide range of  ice systems to automatically produce, store and handle ice in a sanitary way that meets the demanding standards of large scale food processors.
While several “
GENEGLACE look-like” ice machines recently appeared on the Chinese market lately, GENEGLACE is determined to accept imitation as a sure sign of success and pledges to continue setting trends in the field of industrial ice.
“The larger GENEGLACE ice generators with capacities up to 50 tonnes-per-day have proved their dependability and unique efficiency for industrial applications now buoyant in Asia such as, mining, concrete cooling, or dye manufacturing” Alain added.

New GENEGLACE ice plants in Mauritania.
With its twin F600 ice generators and water condenser, the PACK 39 performs extremely well under the warm and demanding conditions of this African country surrounded by the desert. Outstanding performance, low maintenance and unmatched reliability guided Mr Mohamed Ali Haimouda's choice for this model just installed in Nouakchott. Installation there and in Nouadhibou are simple yet effective in supplying quality ice to cool a growing landed catch. This new equipment makes it possible to extend the self life of fish and distribute within a broader reach in Mauritania, West Africa and Europe.

French Polynesia undertakes an ambitious plan for fishing. Red Tuna landings from the growing fishing fleet means ice supply is scarce. Therefore the fishing board implemented a new Geneglace ice plant with a 15 tonnes per day production capacity and 30 tonnes of storage.
This will serve the auction, together with two coin-operated ice dispensers.
GENEGLACE F100M ice makers have also been fitted on-board 15 fishing vessels (daily production capacity : 2.5 tons).
